Rev. Dr. Kimberly A. Wilson is pastor of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church. Pastor Kim, as she prefers to be called, was ordained in 1997. She is a graduate of Wartburg Theological Lutheran Seminary in Dubuque, Iowa. In addition to her seminary degree, Pastor Kim pursued doctoral studies in pastoral counseling. In May of 2009, Pastor Kim received a doctor of ministry degree from Hebrew-Union College—NYU. As part of her doctoral studies, Pastor Kim completed three hundred hours of supervised pastoral counseling. She loves working with adults and children!
Prior to attending seminary, Pastor Kim graduated with honors from Columbia College with a degree in Elementary Education. She taught Kindergarten and Fifth Grade. Pastor Kim employs her teaching skills in her First Communion and Confirmation classes as well as in leading Children’s Sermons.
Before her career as a minister, Pastor Kim’s keen interest in mission work led her to full-time employment with Habitat for Humanity. In 1988, she worked on Habitat’s House-Raising Walk—a 1200 mile fundraising walk from Portland, Maine to Atlanta, Georgia—which raised 1.2 million dollars and 120 homes for families in need. Pastor Kim went on to serve as Habitat’s Associate Director of Development. More recently, Pastor Kim led an intergenerational group of volunteers to help build homes in the Gulf Coast after Hurricane Katrina ravaged the area.
In her spare time, Pastor Kim enjoys playing with her children Katie Grace and Daniel, reading and swimming.
